For some time now our bodies have been acidic because of the type of foods that we take such as processed foods, caffeine, sugars and proteins. We should be aware that our bodies need a good balance of acid and alkaline for it to work properly.

It states that when we take in excess amounts of protein, sugar, caffeine, highly-processed foods, our pH levels get way high and that our diet should reflect only a pH level of 7.35 and 7.45.

This program aims on adding more alkaline foods and reducing our acidic intake by altering the way we eat. This diet includes only eating 80% of alkaline-forming foods and 20% of acid-forming foods. Alkaline foods consist of green vegetables like kale,  cucumbers and broccoli sprouts, wheat grass, parsley, pumpkin seeds, buckwheat, kinds of beans(soybean mainly), almonds (other nuts in various quantities) , cayenne, red chili peppers and sea salt.

Low acidity foods are cow’s milk, fish, black beans, pecans, cantaloupes, pecans nectarines and dates. Upon following the diet, users will be able to experience an increase in energy, better sleep and rapid weight loss.

No exercise is given.  There is also no extensive clinical trials to support the theory to make it favorable to dieters.

“Awesome diet! It was a little scary for me letting go of my sweet tooth, but now I have lost so much weight and my skin is glowing and I find myself so alert and energetic. No highs and lows.

I went through a bit of a detox-like flu-ish phase the first week on the diet. The following week was only a little detoxy then afterward I found that I didn’t even feel like sugary foods or coffee anymore. Weird! I looked to Raw Food recipe books to keep up with having a variety…and a healthier option for desserts when I want to have a treat.

All in all, I give it a thumbs up!”
